Too Much To Dream: The Chocolate Shop Demos

Let it all out was the first song we ever recorded in the shop..

I remember Blane shooting me the address to meet him there

when I was off work. I drove nervously towards the city with

my uke in the passengers seat.. Stepping into the shop was

akin to stepping into another world. I was mesmerized by the

peculiar creative art that lined the walls. Later into the night

after the ice had been broken, chocolate bars had been

wrapped, and laughs were had, wattson sat down at his stool

behind the counter illuminated by a sign reading “Chocolate

By Design”, and plucked those three chords that started this

whole journey..

This whole shit feel like a rocket ship… making this song

really felt like things were just blasting off! Stepping into

full confidence of our craft and our chemistry… aligning

with purpose… a joyful look at a challenging journey…

an acceptance that the time of the arrival doesn’t matter

just as long as the journey to that arrival is fulfilled…

hints the name ‘Brunch’ - “We better late than never

like breakfast at afternoon”

This song was brought to you by enchanted encounters in the

Appalachians, a sacred cabin built in the late 1800’s, rolling

lush green hills, nerf wars, lupini beans, homegrown 🍃,

and some of our fungi friends… we know… quite the

recipe haha

To this day neither me or Blane really know where this song

came from.. So we just say it’s us on some lowkey toxic

shit lol👀 Or maybe it’s just a manifestation of our

dormant fears. I know I came into this relationship with

my own fair share of unresolved wounding just as he did,

and it’s not always easy to have empathy and compassion

for each other when one or both of us is triggered. At some

point through we have to put our pride aside enough to

choose to love and challenge each other to go deeper.

With the right person, that work is always worth it❤️️

Love is a song about… well.. Love. Still at the beginning of

our relationship, still not sure if these feelings are safe, but

wanting and choosing to believe they are. The lyrics are an

affirmation and manifestation of what’s to come

in our future. We hope whether your in a loving relationship,

single, or somewhere in between, that listening to this song

can serve as an affirmation or manifestation for love in your

life. Romantic or otherwise❤️️

This song was written in the early morning hours of

2/22/2022. The air is thick with uncertainty. The world seems

to be coming apart at the seams right before our eyes.

We continue to ask ourselves why all of this is happening,

knowing we won’t get the answers we’re looking for. This

song birthed from that place of disillusionment, from a

world of shadows, trying to find the light.

This… THIS was the song that made us pause in our tracks and

go “oh shit.. we’re really doing this”. This is the song that

solidified our path once and for all. The energy we felt playing

it beginning to end for the first time was electric! We sat there

in that chocolate shop and played it over and over again.

Only stopping when we realized it was 4am and we

all have work in the morning..

Hoodini… Well what can we say.. This is definitely the most

heavily hip hop influenced song on the album. Named after

the legend who got Blane started making music.. Hoodini was

an enigma amongst the world.. A musical talent whose

skills superseded his age. Unfortunately Hoodini passed

away in May of 2017 but his legacy lives on through the

many lives he impacted.. They say that everyone dies twice..

The day they leave their body and the day their name is

mentioned last… SO every time you play this song, share it,

or think about it just know that you are helping extend the

legacy of a LEGEND!

Lonesome dove was fun as fuck to make. What business do

a producer from Colorado, a songwriter from the burbs and

a rapper from the city have making a country anthem????

All of it…

We jumped around the studio dancing and laughing our asses

off as we made this one. As ironic and silly as it felt making it,

we very unironically thought

this shit bumps..

An ode to old friends remembered by the whispers of the

wind… reminding us that we must all return to the ethereal

ocean of souls… We had picked Wattson up from the airport

after visiting his grandfather the last time… He knew that

time was limited. That night Wattson strummed away at this

riff that brought up so many emotions… Blane ended up

writing this hook in remembrance of his grandfather and in

honor of Wattson and Zoe’s grandfather. Wattson wrote

the first verse that takes you on an emotional realization

of our own mortality… The 2nd verse was written by Blane,

referencing a psychedelic journey that He and Hoodini had

taken when they were seniors in highschool… This is

followed by a Soul Wandering solo by Richard Thomas who

was Hoodini’s bandmate and longtime friend… A full circle

moment for sure…

This song feels like baby pink flowers in the spring time, like

floating weightless on steady water, It feels like the exhale

that releases a fountain of tears that water whatever you’re

growing into, you’re still not sure what that is, but it feels

lighter than what you find yourself to be right now. This song

is meant for you to fall into and feel safe in all of the

complexities of your inner world❤️️

This is the dreamers anthem… Anyone who has gone out on

their own, faced ridicule, been through devastation, and still

pursued what they had in their heart against all odds… this

one is for you.. Know that you are seen… know that we are

rooting for you… know that your dream was put on your

heart for a reason and even when it seems like it may be

impossible… just hold on… keep going… remember that

you are living the dream… the dream is not a destination…

it is who you are!
